Baking Demonstrations
Lefse and krumkake demonstrations are held continuously, throughout each day in the Gnome Dome tent. See how these authentic Scandinavian delights are made.
Children's Herring Run
How fast can you run carrying herring on a spatula? This event is ongoing throughout the weekend.
Children's Workshops
Free craft projects for children in the Gnome Dome tent.
Food Trucks
Located on Church street next to the Outdoor market. See the Food page for vendors and menus.
Gnome Dome Tent
Scandinavian Bakeri - baked goods of all kinds. Free children's workshops.
Indoor Market
Indoor vendors with local, hand-made seasonal gifts, gift ideas and goodies! Located in the Recreation Building. No food served inside.
Information Booth
Information on locations, activities, food, vendors, train schedules and more. Also coffee and hot chocolate!
Music
Watch for the strolling accordian player Steve Solkela as he wanders the grounds. Listen to carolers under the direction of Sam Black, as they appear at various times throughout the grounds.
Outdoor Market
OutdoorChristmas village market huts house wide variety of talented vendors, Scandinavian food, Bakeri, and kids Games.
Troll Village
Winter Farmer's Market, Magical troll path. Photo ops!
Santa
Come visit and share your secret wish with this jolly old fellow. Great, free, photo ops with Santa
Sledding
Bring your sled for family fun on our sledding hill (weather permitting).
Quilt Raffle
Just $2 for a chance at The Gnome Mushroom Kingdom quilt. Purchase tickets and see the quilt in the Indoor Market.

Board the Julebyen Express train at the Duluth Depot, arrive in Knife River at 10:30 and board to return at 1:30pm arriving back in Duluth at 3:00pm.
9:30-10:00am Flag Celebration (Julebyen Grounds)
Listen to anthems of our international flag nations.
10:00 Hiking Viking (on the Julebyen Outdoor Stage)
Come see the theatrical exploits of the Hiking Viking!
11-11:45 Troll Train to Troll Canyon (at the Knife River Train Depot)
Come aboard the Troll Train as we journey with our story teller to visit the grouchy troll living under the bridge in a nearby canyon. Purchase tickets from 9:00am-12:00pm at the Knife River Train Depot: Adults - $15, Children 4-12 - $8, Children 3 and under - FREE.

John’s music ranges from folk and Americana to country and semi-classical. He is a former 1st Place winner on the A Prairie Home Companion Talent Show.

Theme: The Story of Jesus' Birth Choir: JOYFUL under direction of Patti Stoddard Narrator: Tim Anderson Actors: Knife River Youth and Adults - locals and relatives of local residents REAL ANIMALS: HORSES, GOATS, A MINIATURE COW, SHEEP, A DONKEY and a CAMEL!! Lots of opportunities to feed and interact with animals afterward.
